What should I do first?

You should take some time to view my portfolio and maybe check out some recent blog entries. After that, let's talk about how I can create beautiful images like those for you and your family.

How do I schedule a portrait session?

When you’re ready to book, just email me. Space is limited and weekends fill up first, so I recommend booking as soon as possible.

What should we wear?

A quick Google search of “what to wear for family portraits” will bring up hundreds of helpful ideas for this common dilemma. I always tell my clients to coordinate, but don’t match. Layers and accessories are wonderful. Pay attention to shoes. Above all else, stay true to yourselves and make sure your kids are comfortable!

What should we bring?

For family and child portrait sessions, bring a change of clothes. Even if you’re not planning to use multiple outfits during your shoot, it’s always good to have an extra set in case of emergency. Bring water and a snack (something quick and mess-free). Your child’s favorite lovey or toy, any special props you want to include, and a treat or bribe if you want to use one.

What if the weather is bad?

Living in Northeast Ohio, we all know how unpredictable the weather can be. Cloudy overcast skies are actually great for photography. Rain isn’t so great, unless we’re doing a puddle jumping session with adorable rain boots and umbrellas. If the forecast is calling for a significant chance of rain during your portrait session, we will contact you the night before or morning of your appointment to reschedule.

Do you charge for travel?

No, I do not charge for travel within the Northeast Ohio area. I regularly travel to locations in Cleveland, Akron, Canton, and the surrounding suburbs like Hartville, Wadsworth, Jackson, Chagrin Falls, Aurora, Medina, Hudson, Brecksville, Peninsula, and more for portrait sessions.

Where should we have our session?

After more than 9 years as a professional photographer in Northeast Ohio, I have developed a long list of amazing locations in the area. When you book your session we will discuss a vision for your shoot and will determine what type of setting you want. It could be a natural park with flowers and greenery, quaint downtown store fronts, a more urban look with alleys and buildings, or a themed session like going to your favorite ice cream shop, playing a game of putt-putt or mini golf, or swimming in your backyard pool. Newborn sessions always take place in the comfort of your own home.

Can you edit out the scratch on my baby’s face?

Yes. The images in your finished gallery will be artistically finished. I edit each image individually and one of the steps I go through is removing blemishes like scratches and marks.

Can we bring our dog to our photo session?

Yes! I’m a lifelong dog owner and love including your furry friends. Please make sure to have an extra person at the shoot who is not going to be in the photos who can take care of your dog when they’re not in front of the camera.
